Living & Learning in Bhutan

Welcome to my blog about my experiences volunteering in Bhutan.

β€œLIFE IS EITHER A DARING ADVENTURE OR NOTHING”

- HELEN KELLER

David calls Perth, Western Australia home with his husband and two dogs.

A Coda (Child of Deaf Adults), traveller, lover of good gin and fine food, and an optimist, David has embraced various roles throughout his life. From a Member of Parliament to a CEO of a Deaf organisation, being the Chair of various boards to an Executive Director of a country music festival - stepping outside his comfort zones is something he has often done.

These days he is passionate about pursuing opportunities that resonate with his personal experiences and values.

Bhutanese
Sign Language

Bhutan has its own unique sign language known as Bhutanese Sign Language (BhSL; Drukgi Lagdai Khakay in Dzongkha).
These posts will share my experience in learning BhSL at the Wangsel Institute for the Deaf.
